Hi after having to get a new base unit with new operating system I am having difficulties in getting the scanner to work is it something in the software or the operating system that I need to change ?

There are no settings in the software.  The scanner should work the same as if you typed the upc code on the keyboard.  Open something like NotePad and scan into that.  You should see it.
