I had to turn off employees having access to my reports because this Summer I actually had 2 brand new hires trying to blackmail me for more pay hourly and were printing off Financial Reports, etc.  It was a mess, these 18 yr old Gen-Z kids are something else.  So no longer do basic sales employees have the ability to run reports now.

However, every night they would run a "Sold Products Summary Extend" report for the day showing what was sold and if there is more stock.  If there is more stock, did they put it on display or not (We only have 1 on display).  When the store is busy sometimes they forget to restock, so we used that report to catch it at closing.

Now with report center off limits for sales associates they can no longer run it.  Can you think of any other way to list what items were sold through out the day (that they can print and carry around with them to check if it was restocked)?

Thank you for your insight.

Using Price Prompt wouldn't work for us, because again when brand new product comes in that managers need to create the product in the POS they're only allowed access to Quick Add and can't set that.  Besides, would using Price Prompt be any different than just allowing sales associates security settings to change the price and discount in Item Tools?  I mean with either option they have the ability to set the price to $0.

Could I please pay you to add more product discount buttons we could add to our toolbar?  we already have 2 available for us, I wouldn't imaging allowing a user up to 10 wouldn't be much harder.  Is that something I can please pay for?  It would solve ALL my problems of employees being able to put a price to $0 (which has already happened more than once). And the coupon function doesn't work because they can just stack it continuously on a sale until the product is free.

**NOT the current 2 discounts that apply a discount to the overall sale, but instead having 10 discount options for the "Product %" discounts (for individual products).

If so, how much would this cost?

Read the help section "Points, Redeem".  They are not connected to coupons.

Open the Settings / Printer Options.
Click the Set button for Receipt Offer and select the coupon item.

You can use the "Price Prompt" Option to prompt the cashier to enter the Discount%.  Or, just create a coupon for each discount you offer.  Item# could be CP10, CP15, CP20...
Tell your employees they will be fired and prosecuted if the steal.

I might have to look into if Clearant is feasible.  We use Heartland and employees manually enter the numbers in but bc we're doing $2.5M in gross sales we get a really good rate.  It's like Cost plus .25 of a percent (so about 1.25%, unlike others charging 3%) however having a system not tied together feels like 1999.  You're not set up to use Heartland are you and I just didn't know?  I thought they were the largest in the US?

But this POS can connect to a credit card machine and automatically put the correct sale total right on the cc machine? (like most large chain retail stores do)

ezPower / Adding "PRINT PGRM.jpg" Coupon to EVERY receipt we print
« Last post by Courtright on January 20, 2021, 07:59:12 PM »
We want to add a PGRM.jpg coupon at the bottom of EVERY receipt that prints for a discount at our website. How can we do that without editing thousands and thousands of products in our database?  The only option that came to mind was making a New Product that says "Receipt Coupon" for $0 and an employee having to remember to hit that Product Button with EVERY single sale.  I would see them forgetting time to time or just not caring, and we want to offer this printable receipt coupon for our website for years and years to come on every receipt.

Is there an easier way to do this? Or a way to add that option in General Settings? Thanks

ezPower / Is there a way to only sell a Product 1 time per transaction? (Coupons)
« Last post by Courtright on January 20, 2021, 07:52:32 PM »
If I create a coupon for 20% off a sales associate can hit the button 10 times in a row, thus multiplying the coupon and getting the product for FREE, big L&P issue.  Is it possible to make it so a coupon can only be applied once per transaction? I've checked the Products options and can't see a way.

I know there are 2 discount buttons however we would need MANY for all the various discounts employees need to say in order to close a sale. A customer might be walking and they have to offer them 10% off and tax free to buy.

  • "Tax Reimbursement" 6% back
  • 10% Military Discount
  • 15% OFF
  • 10% Military + Tax Reimbursement (16% OFF)
  • 20% OFF
  • 30% OFF
  • 40% OFF
  • 50% OFF
I've had to give sales associates the ability to "Change Prices" in Security Settings so they can go to "Item Tools" > "Discount Percent" and apply the discounts that way.  However this Summer at my stores I found and fired an employee making products 100% off and just taking inventory.  Having multiple Discount buttons would solve this but is there another current way to do this without allowing employees to make a $1,500 product FREE using "Discount Percent", "Price Changes" or a sellable Product Coupon hit multiple times?

Thanks for the insight!

ezPower / Apply Customer Loyalty Points to perhaps a general discount or coupon?
« Last post by Courtright on January 20, 2021, 07:41:35 PM »
Hello Ronald,

We're trying to  implement the built-in loyalty system.  With having thousands of products now we can't go back and add points to each product so we are trying to figure out a way to apply the points to an overall discount to the sale.  For instance 100 points will get you $20 OFF to apply to the entire sale.  I've tried actually creating a Product to "sell" or "coupon" etc but can't get anything to work.  Also the issue I found is when I did get something to "kinda work" this way, let's say "$20 OFF" Product, a shady employee could manually just select this product or coupon multiple times until not only was the product free but now they were getting money back as well.  A $20 product sale ... use the "-$20 Product" once and the total gets to zero ... hit it again and you can get $20 back in a return, another time = $40 return and so on plus the free product. Any solutions you can come up with? bc going back to edit thousands of products doesn't really work for us.

Plus Managers only have access to "Quick Add" for creating new products in the future when new inventory arrives not in the POS Database (no loyalty points options in Quick Add).  Am I right in my thinking that a Manager can only access "Quick Add" and not the FULL "New Product Button" with all the features and options without basically having access to Product Control?  I love the features allowed with adding a New Product however I can't allow managers checking in new inventory that doesn't exist in the POS the ability to access Product Control.  We now have $900,000+ of inventory on hand so I really have to protect it now.

Thanks for any input!
Dustin
