It's possible to add 2 more Item Discount buttons.  I'll forward you the details by email.
I don't believe I ever got this e-mail.  I did send an e-mail about paying for I think 3 things of custom work.  Just let me know, thank you.

ezPower / New Product Full Add
« on: January 24, 2021, 01:43:50 PM »
After all these years I've wanted Manager to be able to access "New Product Full Add" but I only could ever find that option in Product Control.  It has so many featured I've wanted to use however giving managers Product Control access with so much inventory was a no go, so we only used Quick Add all these years which does the job.  However, in playing around in "Purchase Order" I just found under "Tools" > "New Product Full Add"

Is there a reason Quick Add is a function button that can be added to the toolbar but New Product Full Add is not?  Besides being inside Product Control and the Purchase Order screen, is there any other area that comes to mind where New Product Full Add can be used?  It would be great to use this for new inventory (which we get new stuff weekly).  But somewhere easier to access than going to Manager Control > Purchase Order, each time we need to add something new.

Or maybe when you are Adjusting Inventory under General Settings a user has the option to select "New Product Full Add" window or the current Quick Add one.

That's excellent news.

Also, wanted to thank you for adding the Staff Report to the Home Screen! When I had to hide the reports from employees (for the bad reasons mentioned before) it took away their ability to check their commission, unless my GM was there.  And them checking their commission was a driving factor some days.  Such as "I'm at $92 in commission, I bet I can get to $100 before I leave."  So it was sad to take that away from them, but in your newer updates this Staff Report was perfect! Thanks

ezPower / Updating one POS from another POS
« on: January 22, 2021, 10:11:51 PM »
My Oceanfront location has been closed for about 4 months bc every Winter we shut down for the Season.  However, during this time at my Norfolk location we have had to change the cost prices and retail prices for hundreds and hundreds of products.  Can we copy a particular set of files from our Norfolk computer and upload them to our Oceanfront computer where they would overwrite old products (old prices) and even add newly added products BUT not change inventory levels?  Is this a possibility?

Trying to find an easier way than having to redo all the price changes again at location 2.  And we're looking to open another store so we need to figure out mass price changes.  We tried the remote service before but we had a lot of issues.  Could only do so many at a time.  Sometimes they wouldn't updated and we would have to do a few times.  So if we could just copy and paste without affecting inventory levels that would be great for now.

Thanks

Ahhhh, this actually probably is exactly what is wrong with our systems.  I've noticed this as well and have wondered why it was happening.  Can't wait to try it out!  Thanks for the input!

I had to turn off employees having access to my reports because this Summer I actually had 2 brand new hires trying to blackmail me for more pay hourly and were printing off Financial Reports, etc.  It was a mess, these 18 yr old Gen-Z kids are something else.  So no longer do basic sales employees have the ability to run reports now.

However, every night they would run a "Sold Products Summary Extend" report for the day showing what was sold and if there is more stock.  If there is more stock, did they put it on display or not (We only have 1 on display).  When the store is busy sometimes they forget to restock, so we used that report to catch it at closing.

Now with report center off limits for sales associates they can no longer run it.  Can you think of any other way to list what items were sold through out the day (that they can print and carry around with them to check if it was restocked)?

Thank you for your insight.

Using Price Prompt wouldn't work for us, because again when brand new product comes in that managers need to create the product in the POS they're only allowed access to Quick Add and can't set that.  Besides, would using Price Prompt be any different than just allowing sales associates security settings to change the price and discount in Item Tools?  I mean with either option they have the ability to set the price to $0.

Could I please pay you to add more product discount buttons we could add to our toolbar?  we already have 2 available for us, I wouldn't imaging allowing a user up to 10 wouldn't be much harder.  Is that something I can please pay for?  It would solve ALL my problems of employees being able to put a price to $0 (which has already happened more than once). And the coupon function doesn't work because they can just stack it continuously on a sale until the product is free.

**NOT the current 2 discounts that apply a discount to the overall sale, but instead having 10 discount options for the "Product %" discounts (for individual products).

If so, how much would this cost?

I might have to look into if Clearant is feasible.  We use Heartland and employees manually enter the numbers in but bc we're doing $2.5M in gross sales we get a really good rate.  It's like Cost plus .25 of a percent (so about 1.25%, unlike others charging 3%) however having a system not tied together feels like 1999.  You're not set up to use Heartland are you and I just didn't know?  I thought they were the largest in the US?

But this POS can connect to a credit card machine and automatically put the correct sale total right on the cc machine? (like most large chain retail stores do)

ezPower / Adding "PRINT PGRM.jpg" Coupon to EVERY receipt we print
« on: January 20, 2021, 07:59:12 PM »
We want to add a PGRM.jpg coupon at the bottom of EVERY receipt that prints for a discount at our website. How can we do that without editing thousands and thousands of products in our database?  The only option that came to mind was making a New Product that says "Receipt Coupon" for $0 and an employee having to remember to hit that Product Button with EVERY single sale.  I would see them forgetting time to time or just not caring, and we want to offer this printable receipt coupon for our website for years and years to come on every receipt.

Is there an easier way to do this? Or a way to add that option in General Settings? Thanks

If I create a coupon for 20% off a sales associate can hit the button 10 times in a row, thus multiplying the coupon and getting the product for FREE, big L&P issue.  Is it possible to make it so a coupon can only be applied once per transaction? I've checked the Products options and can't see a way.

I know there are 2 discount buttons however we would need MANY for all the various discounts employees need to say in order to close a sale. A customer might be walking and they have to offer them 10% off and tax free to buy.

  • "Tax Reimbursement" 6% back
  • 10% Military Discount
  • 15% OFF
  • 10% Military + Tax Reimbursement (16% OFF)
  • 20% OFF
  • 30% OFF
  • 40% OFF
  • 50% OFF
I've had to give sales associates the ability to "Change Prices" in Security Settings so they can go to "Item Tools" > "Discount Percent" and apply the discounts that way.  However this Summer at my stores I found and fired an employee making products 100% off and just taking inventory.  Having multiple Discount buttons would solve this but is there another current way to do this without allowing employees to make a $1,500 product FREE using "Discount Percent", "Price Changes" or a sellable Product Coupon hit multiple times?

Thanks for the insight!

Hello Ronald,

We're trying to  implement the built-in loyalty system.  With having thousands of products now we can't go back and add points to each product so we are trying to figure out a way to apply the points to an overall discount to the sale.  For instance 100 points will get you $20 OFF to apply to the entire sale.  I've tried actually creating a Product to "sell" or "coupon" etc but can't get anything to work.  Also the issue I found is when I did get something to "kinda work" this way, let's say "$20 OFF" Product, a shady employee could manually just select this product or coupon multiple times until not only was the product free but now they were getting money back as well.  A $20 product sale ... use the "-$20 Product" once and the total gets to zero ... hit it again and you can get $20 back in a return, another time = $40 return and so on plus the free product. Any solutions you can come up with? bc going back to edit thousands of products doesn't really work for us.

Plus Managers only have access to "Quick Add" for creating new products in the future when new inventory arrives not in the POS Database (no loyalty points options in Quick Add).  Am I right in my thinking that a Manager can only access "Quick Add" and not the FULL "New Product Button" with all the features and options without basically having access to Product Control?  I love the features allowed with adding a New Product however I can't allow managers checking in new inventory that doesn't exist in the POS the ability to access Product Control.  We now have $900,000+ of inventory on hand so I really have to protect it now.

Thanks for any input!
Dustin

(con't)...

2) How far have you come on Shopify integration? As well as possibly having live inventory status on shopify?  If not live what about daily? Like when the system shuts down it sends stock status to shopify and at least updates quantities every 24 hours or whenever the system closes.

3) are you still able to do custom work if we pay.  We have ideas that would greatly help security issues with our personal store and honestly it's just hiding certain features that already exist or showing more features that already exist.  Not really creating anything new.

4) A BIG ISSUE for us is in order for an employee (at the end of the night) to run a sold products summary (so we can go through everything sold that day and make sure it is restocked) that every employee (even a new hire) has to have security access for reports.  Giving them access to just that report gives them access of course to ALL reports.  I had an issue this summer with brand new employees wanting more money because they could see we are doing millions of dollars a year in business by running detailed financial reports they shouldn't actually have access to in the first place.  But to give them access to the 1 report they need for restocks we had to give them access to ALL reports.

Thank you so much and let me know if you need me to specify anything further.  =)
