Trade-ins or the products you sell, do not effect the z-out directly. The z-out is looking at payments.

We're sending you an update that should fix this problem. The invoice# is temporary set to zero for the credit card charge. So the invoice# will show as zero in Mercury's payment reports.

That post is not about the same topic. The problem that was fixed was conserning Bulk and Portion wholesale pricing. The problem only came up when using price levels 2-6.

I'm confused by your description of the Sales / Sales Control window. It will find a sale by all kinds of methods. Not just by a product.

The way it works:
Bought 5 at 2.00
Your Avg Cost is 2.00
Sell 3
Bought 5 more at 2.10
Your Avg Cost = (2*2.00 + 5*2.10)/7 = 2.07
Bought 5 at 2.00
Your Avg Cost is 2.00
Sell 3
Bought 5 more at 2.10
Your Avg Cost = (2*2.00 + 5*2.10)/7 = 2.07

Have you been using the Trade-In function button? Products can have multiple prices. Prices 2,3,4,5 and 6 can be named anything you like. You can make price 2 "used".

It's a matter of speed. The farther back it looks the longer it takes. You can also use the Sales / Sales Control to find all sales. I'll check to see if a deep search option is possible.

I'm not sure I understand your last post. You can change the name of the 6 prices using the Sales / Discount window. The bulk and portion wizard make it easy. Just add a second price in the edit window. You don't need to do anything else. Just follow my 4 steps listed above.
