ezPower / Product Price Level Reports
« on: January 18, 2018, 05:56:31 PM »
I was wondering if there is such a report.

I use the Price Levels 1-6 on all my Products.  It just seems like the easiest and most reliable way to discount locals, wholesalers, employees, etc.

I've been exporting the Price Level for each sale along with the rest of the Sales information to my accounting software (Xero) so I can track it - mainly because I've never come across a way generate such a report in EZP.  I use the "Products/Sold Products Detail" report, and choose "Price Level" as one of the report variables.  Then, I use the tracking feature in Xero to monitor the proportion of each of those Levels.

However, the "Products/Sold Products Detail" report allows for only 10 such variables, and there's another one that I'd like to add.  It seems that the Price Level might be my best option to remove and make way for it - at least if I can get that directly out of EZP without a lot of hassle.

Is there any such report at this time?  Or could I maybe recruit your services for another custom report?

Thanks!

ezPower / something amiss in a Product
« on: December 28, 2017, 12:56:59 PM »
Yesterday we had a sale in which the price charged was somehow changed - without input from the cashier - from $145 to $108.75 (25%).

In looking at the sale now, the Product Description appears with "S7-" as a prefix to the regular Description, and no value for a discount.  Price shows up at $145, and Extended shows up as $108.75.  When I re-print the receipt, NO prices show up.

There's nothing in Product Control that reflects any of this - no "S7" shows up anywhere, and there's no "$108.75" in any of the Price Levels.  And there's nothing but standard Retail pricing in Customer info.  Additionally, I can export that entire Category into Excel, and see no difference whatsoever between this product and the others.

What can I do to keep this from recurring?

ezPower / Credit Card problem
« on: September 18, 2017, 10:30:36 AM »
Apparently we had EZP "go down" today in the middle of a credit card transaction.  The result was that the transaction remains unpaid in EZP, but the ChargeItPro software shows that it's paid.

Is there some way to mark the EZP transaction as paid?

Thanks.

ezPower / purchase orders

I know that there are files in the DR14 folder for PO's, but is there any chance of there being any report that can show them cumulatively, or by supplier?

ezPower / adding/editing Modifiers
« on: August 09, 2017, 11:30:11 AM »
Is there any way to bulk change Modifiers?

This gets back to my shipping charges.  It's working well with dimensional weights assigned to each product to get the total weight of a package - it's a big step in the right direction.

The next step is for the cashier to choose the shipping charge.  I'm currently assigning a Product for each weight range in each zone - the zones are separated by Category, the weight ranges are separated by Products.  It's working out all right, but adds up to a lot of Products!

I think it would be kind of slick to have just one Product for each postal zone, and then use Modifiers for the various weights and resulting charges.  I was able to create all those Products above in Excel, which didn't take long.  But the data entry - and eventual editing - for each charge in each Modifier group seems like it'll be kind of tedious.  Though not insurmountable, I'm wondering if there's any way to use a csv file to populate Modifier fields - or any other way to bulk edit Modifiers.

Thanks.

ezPower / Handling charge
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:35:46 AM »
Along with revising how we handle Shipping charges, I'm considering the use of the Handling Charge that shows up with every transaction.  It appears pretty easy to use - just click on it to add a charge.

I'm wondering, though, how it's reconciled at the end of the day.  The money shows up on Sales Reports and Z-outs, but with no indication of what the money was for.

I realize that Handling is not exactly a "product", but I'm not sure how we'd use it if there's no sign of what it's total is at the end of the day.

Or am I missing something?

ezPower / Date format
« on: August 01, 2017, 09:28:33 AM »
I just noticed in my newest version that the date comes up in an odd format when selecting a date range for reports:  "date, month, year".

That's how it shows up in the Date fields, anyway.  In the lower part of the Date Selection window, it shows up more like the old way, "month/date/year".

Not that it's unreadable, it just really throws me for a loop - especially for the first 12 days of each month.

Is there a way to adjust this?

ezPower / Shipping and Weight in Product Edit
« on: July 26, 2017, 12:16:44 PM »
I've always wondered about utilizing the Shipping and Weight fields for a product.  In experimenting, though, and using products where I've added data, I can't find anywhere else that it shows up.  Or is that only for Webgen?

ezPower / Product Watch function
« on: July 16, 2017, 10:03:25 AM »
I like using both of these features - the "Margin Watch" and the "Out of Stock Warning".

Are there any reports at all that I can generate to see when these warnings have come up?  We have a procedure in place for handling them, but I'd really like to be able to know when they come up.  Reporting by staff is not always a guarantee.

Thanks!

ezPower / set customer fields to required

I just noticed that this is an added feature in v14.  Where do you access it?  I've been looking all over.

ezPower / access for "Receive PO"
« on: March 13, 2017, 09:55:11 AM »
Probably the one thing I miss about employees consistently not have access to the Manager screen is that they are now not able to Receive a PO ("Receive Order").

I'm guessing there must be some other way to access that function that I just haven't found.   But I sure don't think a person would need to have Manager access to check in an order.

Thank.s

ezPower / small problem with Product Location
« on: February 15, 2017, 05:10:12 PM »
I'm thinking that the Location field is the best way to differentiate whether an item can be found in-store, on our website, or both.

I'm aware of at least a couple of ways of sorting items by Location.  One is in the Product Control window.  Another, I think, is by creating a report using Report/Inventory/List by Location.  However, that brings up the list of Suppliers, not Locations.  Is this just a little glitch?

Thanks.

ezPower / question about Suppliers
« on: February 15, 2017, 04:56:45 PM »
In the Product Control window, I often search by Supplier when I'm getting ready to place an order.

I'm trying to create a more complete listing of what Suppliers I can actually get certain items from, but I'm finding that only Supplier #1 seems to be read for these searches - at least in Product Control.

However, I noticed that Suppliers other than #1 DO show up in the Purchase Order window.

Maybe it's a personal thing, but I think it's easier to scan a lot of items in Product Control than in Purchase Order (or maybe it's just that I'm in Product Control much more often).  Is it intentional that Product Control doesn't do that?

Thanks

ezPower / access to Manage
« on: February 02, 2017, 01:44:44 PM »
My version is 14.293, network.

After hearing how some other users are relying heavily on EZP security settings, I thought I should mention a basic issue that I've been having with my version.  And this has really gone on for as long as I remember - it's just not a huge deal.

It seems that when EZP is first opened every day, there's access to areas like Manager Control without any password being requested.  If I close and re-open the program, it works as desired - a password IS required.  But, often, Manage Control is accessible without a password again.  This often happens if I've had to go in and out of Product Control, for instance, a few times.

Is there any fix for this?

Thanks.

ezPower / Back up
« on: February 02, 2017, 01:39:08 PM »
My version is 14.293, network.

If I need to close EZP at some point during the day, it asks me if I want to do a back-up.  In the past, I could say "no" each time I closed it, waiting for the final exit of the day to back it up.

However, for maybe 6 months or so now, once I exit and do not ask for the backup, it doesn't ask me again for the rest of the day.  That's not a problem if I'm there, but I'd rather not have everyone be able to go into Manage to back things up manually.

Is there any kind of fix for this?

Thanks.
