I am looking for a way to make products which are discontinued or on the DNR list to display at the end of the list in Product Control.

I have used Excel in versions up to 2007 with success. I would recommend exporting the sample data and then examining it in Excel before you start assuming you know everything. It should make the data structure more apparent. When Importing, you do not have to import every field, only the ones that you need.

In product control these sort before letters and numbers. Do they sort before in an export? I guess I assume they would. I am looking for a way to move them to the end. Marking an item discontinued prevents one from selling remaining stock.

We have an item code "upcharge" which is in a department which is non taxable. It is set to price prompt.

Note to Ronald: In my dream world POS software would be able to add a fee to every sale automatically, call it environmental surcharge or card processing fee, and have it automatically subtracted back off when cash payment type is selected. Alternately having a fee table accessed when card charge is selected as a payment type would work also. (The table would depend on card type [debit, credit, rewards] and amount ranges.) The reason that subtracting a fee off is better is because people prefer a perceived discount over paying for their expense causing choice to use a card.

There are five ascii characters which are higher than lower case z in ascii codes. When I use any of the four of them which are keystroke characters than are printable they all sort before letters in the ITEM# field. Are there any characters which sort after letters in this software?

I am trying to get them to move to the end of an export so that I can do seasonal ordering. In the meat of our season we sold 8592 items. If there was a way to get the software to do a meaningful purchase order based on history rather than regurgitating the contents of the ORDER POINT and ORDER fields then this manual generation of a series of POs would not be as necessary. So far neither of the methods of generating POs has proven even slightly useful.

We upgraded the PC we use for inventory and receiving to Windows 10. There was some strange dissassociation of part lookups on the windows Vista machine in our office immediately afterward the next time the windows 10 machine worked with inventory. After closing the software and restarting it on the Vista machine and the Windows XP machine acting as the server and cash register the issue resolved itself. While it is likely that the starting of the software for the first time after the Windows 10 upgrade was the proximate cause of the strangeness, we cannot prove it and the problem was a single instance and has not been repeated.

It has been otherwise stable and normal.

Hi Ronald:

It appears that when a cash out of a giftcard is later deleted it does not remove the giftcard balance. When the giftcard is later cashed out to correct the payment method it increases the original amout of the giftcard and the balance.

I simply want to know if this has been addressed in version 14, which I will soon be paying for.

(If the software does not record the giftcard id in the sales record it could require a giftcard id when deleting the payment method.)

This happens randomly when we click the product button with the mouse and no keyboard input. We have no touch screen to be faulty. It only happens a couple percent of the time and only occasionally back to back. I cannot determine any pattern to it. This has been true through all of the updates on version 13 which is the original version we bought. It is not particularly disruptive, and so have not complained about it. I am simply commenting on it to provide data.

Is there any way to run a report that shows the quantity of items sold in a given period. Like over several months? I tried exporting sales but it created a massive spreadsheet with 16,000 rows and only 30 days even though I had selected a larger period.

Thanks. I deleted the local DR13 directory and it ran just fine. I set up the register as and unused one and pointed it to the NAS.

Hi Ronald. We loaded the program onto a new PC which I plan to make our new server. We loaded it as a workstation and tested to make sure it worked. Remembering the domain issues We uninstalled it before joining the domain. We reinstalled version 13. It ran fine.

We copied data onto the local hard drive and ran as station #1. There is another station #1 on the network which is our current main workstation.

When I attempted to log in today we got the error in the title. The first popup says Error 5 with Unable to save Header information on a new line. The next popup says Generic Exception. The program then closes.

Assuming most of your customers are tight wads, what would you settle for supporting?

This started after the most recent update. The "require customer name for giftcard" field is not selected in setup. I tried selecting it, saving and then deselecting and saving. The state did not toggle. Do you have any suggestions?
