ezPower / Loading v14 network
« on: May 21, 2023, 12:50:33 PM »
Our computer (reg #1) has been having problems and they seem to be related to a bad (corrupted) drive. Bought new computer and I'm trying to load everything on it so we can swap out the old one.
I have loaded Ver14 network onto it but have not been able to restore the backup on the new computer. I know it's something simple but it's beyond me. We are currently using the old (soon to be replaced) computer because we are still open for business. I was hoping to get things up and running on the new one so we could just bring it up after we close so we can start fresh the next day.

Is setting up the new computer as #1 while we still have the one in front set as #1 causing the problem? If so is there any way to set things up so it is a relatively painless and simple process? Also do I just use the backup to install the information onto the new computer?

Sorry but I'm just stuck as how to do this (as usual).

I assume the "ezp" files that I backup daily is what needs to be imported or installed on the new computer. If so at least I am kind of on the right track.

I hope you can understand what I am trying to say.

Thank you Ronald in advance for the help.

ezPower / x out
« on: June 03, 2020, 02:00:09 PM »
Ronald,

As I was looking over the demo I noticed that under Tools there is an "x out". I am familiar with "z out" but not "x out", what is that and what is it used for.

One other question, is there any way to view a z out report after it has been closed either from the program or the cloud. We print them but it would be nice if they could be viewed remotely or even from the software itself. There have been a few occasions had people that will z out and forget to print it. When that happens the only thing I have been able to do it is print various reports to get the information I need. This is all information I need for my records, just curious.

Thank you

Craig

Version 13, it does open a window showing outgoing email address and password under that it has a (SMTP) field and I entered the SMTP there but don't I have to enter other info like Port, address to etc? I thought I did that in the past and once it was set up all we had to do at the end of the day was click send and I received the report.

ezPower / Gmail Configuration in setup

I use to get reports for the daily sales (years ago), but for some reason that stopped after I update the software. I am again wanting to set this up so I can receive them at the end of the day. When I go into the email setup there is nowhere for me to enter the smtp or any of the other information it will need to send. Not sure what is happening, I know I have done it before. Any ideas?

ezPower / Making correction after Z-out
« on: February 23, 2012, 07:43:30 AM »
Is there any way to go back and make an adjustment to a sale after a z-out? We have had a problem with a sale and didn't find it until the next day when I went over the report. Just thought that if I could go back and make the change then the report would be correct. The people using the computer and running the z-report don't always catch problems. The issue was a taxable sale sold as non-taxable.

ezPower / Re: New receipt printer not working
« on: September 02, 2011, 09:04:55 AM »
I use to use a receipt printer so I understand that.  I did as you pointed out before I posted but it wasn't working.  When I switched back to use the laser printer the laser did print the receipts.  As for the connection with the drawer it is connected as it was with the last printer, using the (phone cord type of plug) between the printer and the drawer.

Any other ideas?

I have been using a laser printer for sometime now after replacing my computer and the new one not having a parallel port.  Just ordered a Star TSP100, after installing it I tried to use it to print a receipt or open the drawer, neither worked.  This printer is connected using via usb.  Any suggestions?

Monitor works now, so is the drawer.  Now it's just the credit cards.

The sales monitor opens but there daily sales don't show.  Also, I am quicker than the big hand.

Thanks Ronald,

I went and check the boxes that were checked (credit cards, check card, visa etc) and fixed that.  Then I tried a credit card sale, again the sale went through but the void didn't happen as you described.  I got the warning box but no black box.  When I went and checked the z report to see what was listed, the credit card sale was still there and there was a cash sale of $35.50 (don't know where that one came from.  I'm the only one here so nothing has been sold.

ezPower / How to void a credit card sale
« on: February 17, 2011, 08:45:49 AM »
Ronald,
Got everything set up with Mercury and made a test sale with my credit card.  Everything went through fine with Mercury, when I went to void the sale and refund payment, nothing.  In the past with PC Charge and older version everything was returned to inventory and credit card refunded and a receipt was printed.  When I went to check to see IF the sale was voided (in Z report) it showed there was a credit card sale over double the amount of the sale (sale $10.71 - report $21.43). I can't use this until I know that I would be able to refund amount to customer.

Mercury said there was nothing they could do and that it was an issue with the POS. What is happening and what can I do to fix this, really would like to take cards again.

Second, drawer not opening.

Third, I am unable to see the sales monitor on the server.  I can see the Activity Log and Time Clock but that's it.  My network guy couldn't find any reason for why it wouldn't work, seeing I am getting some info that it live.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to bother you but after upgrading my software my cashdrawer isn't opening after a sale.  I have a Citizen CT-S300, serial.  I have downloaded an updated driver and installed it.  The printer is printing just fine.  The drawer opens if I click on Open Drawer.  When I looked in the settings the new driver doesn't show up in the drop down list.

Thank you

Craig

ezPower / Microsoft .NET

Ronald, Not sure about Microsoft .NET. Is this something I need to add to my computer or is it normally loaded.  I understand that you would have no idea what is on my computer but how would I find out if I have or need it/

ezPower / Re: Need cost of inventory but having problem
« on: February 01, 2011, 08:25:57 AM »
Checked out the Average cost but there was nothing that would give me a number of $108,000,000.00.  Is there any way to adjust the average cost other than deleting and redoing each product that is off.  Also is there anything else that could cause this type of problem, I really don't want to have to do the math for each item myself, I have about 2000 items.
