Title: Error with Mercury credit card processing in v13
Post by: CareTek on March 26, 2011, 09:33:45 AM
When attempting to process a credit card, customer gets a pop-up message "Error processing card. Merchant setting requires RecordNo and Frequency."

Customer has version 13, and we installed the DSI ActiveX control specified by Mercury support.

- Customer's Internet connection is working.
- Customer has a valid merchant account with Mercury.
- Verified Merchant ID is correct in Settings -> Payment Methods -> Mercury.
- Verified customer has .NET framework installed (versions 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 are present).

Looking for further troubleshooting suggestions.

For faster service on weekends send questions by email.  It's much faster.  Does mercury know the account is for ezPower?  I've not seen that message before.
In the Payment Methods window only use the "Credit Card" or "Debit Card" settings for credit cards.  Dont' use "Visa, MC"....

Yes.

I always seem to get the really unusual problems. :)

"Cash" and "Credit Card" are the only payment options enabled.

Mercury thinks the account was set up improperly for ezPower.  You need to contact them and tell them ezPower does not support "tokenization".

Yes, that's exactly what it was.

Once Mercury fixed the account setup on their end, it just started working.
