Title: Item numbers

we have both scan able products that use a bar code and products that we create and print bar codes for. I am wondering if I use the $ and a .(period)  anywhere in the item number, with these signs being programing code, can that cause the system to  do strange things with the pricing or inventory, or for that matter anything with the product?

I do not believe that will be a problem.
