ezPower / Re: Get UPC/SKU to print on inventory reports
« on: April 11, 2013, 10:51:25 PM »
This might be of help to you...
What I've been doing is putting the suppliers order code in the Item # field.
This means I can export the product lists and they will then have a unique field I can cross-ref with supplier lists. (I use Microsoft Access for this)
I can then easily bulk check for RRP or cost price changes, create a csv with Item#, RRP, Cost Price and import it back in.
A bit of care is needed in case different suppliers use the same codes but I haven't found this an issue.
I use this system with another customer of mine (on a different EPOS system) and I can export/check and import 10,000 line pricelists in about an hour.

I also put full size/colour info into the Long Description and have set the Long Description to print on receipts. e.g.
Description (49 characters max I think)
Oakley Gascan SGlasses Pol Wht/Blk Irid
Long Description
Polished White Frame/Black Iridium Lens

If there isn't enough space to print the full short Description on a receipt,  a customer will have the long description printed out as well.

ezPower / Stocktake
« on: March 16, 2013, 11:41:51 PM »
Hi. I'm looking to do a full stocktake using a scanner that will produce a file with a barcodes scanned list.
Our store is opening soon and while I've got all our product details loaded up I need to get our opening stock levels in.
e.g.
Barcode, Qty
Barcode, Qty

or (assuming Qty=1 for each line)
Barcode
Barcode

I've had a look in the Stock Adjust section but can't work out how to load it up.
Any help appreciated in how best to sort this out.

Thanks,
Stef

ezPower / How to track a customer order?
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:49:25 AM »
Has anyone worked out a method for tracking customer orders through the system?

We run a cycle store and place frequent customer orders.
I'm trying to work out a way to get some sort of prompt so that when a purchase order is booked in, I get a reminder that it is for a customer.

Thanks

ezPower / Import/Update products
« on: February 24, 2013, 02:41:45 AM »
Just got v13 installed and starting to use it over in the UK.
Thanks for a great program!

I'm starting to use the Product Import/update facility and that's working well.
Is it possible for me to define my own 'Import File Version#' ( or re-define/add to the Mini field options)?
I have my own set required fields and at present I have to use the Empty option, open the file and then assign the fields each time.

I could use a spreadsheet setup with all the field headers for file version 11 but this does make it a bit fiddly!

Might it be possible for the import routine to check the Import Data Field Headers (when Empty is used) to see if they match any system fields and auto-fill in suggested matching fields?

I've used the import facility to update product data and that's working great.
I'm using the unique Item# to match my import data to data on the sytem.
What other fields can I use  for updating data? UPC?
