You must have a couple things set up differently than I do (e.g., we don't do commissions).

But when I hit "clear sale", I get a message box that says, "Clear this sale?  All the items will be removed.  Any payments already made will remain."  Nothing else.

Hey, it works great!  Thanks!!

I was intrigued by this, as I often worry about the same thing.  So I tried it - entered an item, changed "stock" to "1", then entered the item in the "sales window", and printed a receipt without finalizing the transaction.  I even started a different transaction.  Then I checked the item in the "Product" section, and the "stock" was unchanged (still "1").   In the "sales window" the transaction showed up with "no" for "paid", since it hadn't been finalized.

Then I wondered if it had been put on layaway, and did that.  The "stock" value went to "0", as I'd expect.

We've been using this system for a good couple years now, and I can't say we've had anything like this.  We've had other oddball things happen, but nothing that usually seems reproducible (i.e., meaning someone just screwed up).  I'll be interested in hearing what the outcome of this is!

I agree 100% with Courtright - well, except that we use the "Item Tools" in the Sales Window to delete an item.  I do want to try the keyboard "delete", though - that sounds better yet!

(remember, the person logged in has to be given clearance in the Security settings to be able to delete an item)

ezPower / Change Category
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:47:31 PM »
I'm running EZ POS network version, and, as of last week, v. 13.757.

In the Products section, I've used the "change" function a lot in the past.  It's been a great feature!

Somehow, though, with this newer version, I can't get the "change category" function to work right.  I get all the items I want to change into the new category, all right, but I also still have them in the old category!!

They are identical items, including the item #'s.   I don't think it's supposed to work like that, anyway.

It looks like there are some real changes in the version, so I'm wondering if I might be missing a step.

thanks!

Bob

That would help, wouldn't it!!  It's "Ocean Beaches Glassblowing".

Thanks!

Hey, I have that same issue!  Only once in a while, and only on our network register (reg. #2).

I have version 13.511, the network version.

Thanks!

(it pays to peruse the old emails - I was just ready to submit this!)

We've been using the "must log in for each sale" for a few months now.  I've been surprised at the ease of using it, and the acceptance of it by the employees.  And when I'm trying to figure out something after the fact, it's great to know who was really involved.

I'd recommend just changing over to that.

ezPower / Network version question
« on: April 09, 2013, 05:28:55 PM »
I'm using v 13.514 of ezPower - Network (I've had it for a while, but just started using it this past month when we added a 2nd register).

Everything seems to work fine - as long as Register #2 is connected to the network.  It seems to disconnect a few times during the day, though - and, of course, causes some problems then.

I know how to tell on the server whether there's a problem with the connection - but it would probably be most helpful to be able to tell on the second terminal - before a transaction that ends up being a problem is entered.

Also, is there a way to permanently enter the network path on that second terminal so I might not have to go through all the steps each time I want to re-connect them?

Thanks!

ezPower / Re: Report Printing problem

Since the problem has been occuring, I've connected a second terminal using the EZP network version I have (the problem was going on prior to this).  I have Acrobat X standard on both of them, and it works fine on the second terminal.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled it on the main (server, now) terminal, and it still goes into those infinite pages for printing.

Both pc's are running Windows 7 and Acrobat X standard, and I have all the printer settings the same on each.  In the main pc, I can create pdf's from .txt files with Acrobat, just not from within EZP.

It seems, though, that I can just use the networked pc for these reports.

What I did is use a program like LogMeIn or TeamViewer, and it worked great.

Ronald, you make that sound so easy!  But how do you fulfill the backorder?

First, I tried to enter an order by putting the item on backorder, then using the layaway function.  But I found that using the backorder command zeroes out the price anyway.

The only way I know how to go back to the order to have the customer pay (and, I assumed, fulfill the backorder) is to use the "edit closed sale" function - but that doesn't seem to let me charge anything.

Do you maybe hit the "backorder" button again and do a "-1" quantity?

Thanks!

Hey, it looks like the "backorder" function may work for the situation of making custom items for customers (mine is a glassblowing business).  EZP has a nice report of for the backorders!

However, I can't find any way to get a previously backordered item OFF the backorder report!  Is there a way?
