Use of Modifiers in v14
« on: November 06, 2014, 10:29:42 AM »
In v13, adding a Modifier was mandatory for the cashier, but is not in v14.  Is there a way to make it mandatory somewhere?

Example:  we can get lighting hardware in a number of different finishes, and I've had those choices as Modifiers.  Now, though, the cashier can enter a sale with no information on that at all.

Not a huge problem, just wondering if I need to take a different approach.

In version 13 you can press the escape key to skip entering a modifier.
One option is to have a default modifier selection.  That will be printed on the receipt and shown on the register.  Maybe that would help.

For a "default modifier", do you mean I'd add one of the Modifier to the actual description, or is there a way to set one of the Modifiers as the default?

Yes.  In the Modifier definition window you can choose the default selections.  Just like you could in version 13.
