Hello,
I'm hoping to connect scale to my ezPOS version 11 to weigh pumpkins.  I can't find any setup information to configure ports, speeds, etc.   I have not purchased the scale yet, does anybody have experience with scale that works well with ezPOS?

A scale can be used to weigh products at checkout time.  For example a product that must be weighed at checkout time will use the Option “Read Scale” in the product edit window.  The “One Item per Line” option should also be used.

The scale must connect to the serial(COM) port of the computer.  Weigh-Tronix and CAS PD-II scales have been tested and verified.  The CAS PD-II is set to mode 5.  Other scales may work but have not been verified.

Port settings:
9600 BAUD
7 Data Bits
1 Stop Bit
Even Parity

Perfect, thank you.  One last question.  Have you seen issues using a usb-->serial adapter with scales?

Yes, I've heard of lots of issues of all kinds using USB adapters.
