ezPower / Re: GIFT CARDS
« on: April 20, 2011, 08:11:13 AM »
Gift Cards can be sold at varying amounts, towards future purchases.   After the card is sold it’s used as a payment method.

1) You must have "Unique Numbered Gift Cards" for individual purchase.  There are many businesses that provide this service. The gift cards can be bar-coded or use a magnetic strip.  The information on the card must be a unique number that is terminated by a 'Enter Key' character.

2) Create a new product called "Gift Card" or whatever you want.

3) Check the "Service/Price Prompt " options on the product screen. No "Cost or Tax" should be selected.

4) Change the Sell selection to Gift Card.

5) To sell this service, select the product "Gift Card" in the sales window like a normal purchased item, and use the "Finish" icon as normal to complete.

6) Select the payment option (cash for example) and a prompt will ask you to input the gift card number.  Swipe or scan the gift card.  You can even type the serial# in.

7) The system will continue to track the outstanding balance of all cards.

8 ) As displayed below, reports on purchased gift cards, and outstanding balances through the toolbar under "Accounts".

ezPower / Re: Mercury Duplicate Transaction Handling

My understand is you won't get a duplicate error because the Invoice# will be different.  The error messages are all from the processor.  ezPower only relays the message.  If the card is declined for any reason by the processor then ezPower gets a declined message and won't finish the order.  I will take a look at the error code to see if that gives any more information as to what happened.  On the first attempt you recieved this message "Error processing card: *AP"?  What kind of card was it?  What kind of card went through?  The card type doesn't make any difference to ezPower.  So, that is strange.

That should work.  Open the Help window and click on the Database button.  This will open a window.  Open the ezp folder to find the User.ezp file inside.

Try the Products / Adjust Stock.  Use that window to count your items.  There is a "Stock Correction" button.  This will correct the stock and keep track of the differences.  You can use the report Inventory / Shorages.

We added a Print button to the list of payments.  We are sending you an update.

I would use the Sales Control, File / Export Sales (Export All Sales).  This will also export the products, employees, gift cards, vendors and payments.  That only leaves the settings you need to redo.  After importing the sales file use the Sales Control, File / Delete All Sales to reset the sales count.

1 - update the v11 (if you haven't already).
2 - export the Sales from v11.
3 - close v11 and open v13
4 - use the Sales Import (this will take a while).
5 - use the File / Delete All Sales in the Sales Control window.
6 - reset all your settings (File / Choose Recept Printer, Settings / General....)

If you want to see the old sales run version 11.  The version 13 will not effect v11.

No don't uninstall and all that.  Just save a backup copy of the data and then use the Delete All Sales.  Let me know when you are ready and I'll walk you through it.

With that many sales it could take all night.  I'm sure it's just taking longer than you expect.  The transfer from 11 to 13 does include a sales export.  But you can elect to leave the sales in 11 and only transfer the products and customers.

Use the Sold Product Detail report.  Select the "List Price" and "Selling Price" to see any difference.

I think you are looking at the list of all payments.  The Sales Detail report shows the payments.

It's not freezing.  It's just busy and won't respond until it's done.
You can export the sales and most everything except the settings to version 13 from version 11 or 12.

Yes.  Open the Settings / Security window and set the p/w level for those functions lower (Start Program, Exit Program).
