I sell meats and cheeses by the pound or portions thereof.  I post my prices in $ per lb.  Will the POS allow me to put in a price by the pound then sell 0.6 lbs.?  I couldn't find a way to do it so I made my UOM the ounce.  It works but is confusing to the customer when they look at their receipt and see qty 8 (oz.) instead of 1/2 lb.

You can sell by the lbs.  Was the problem you couldn't enter something like 1.2?  The qty field must have been changed.  Open the Settings / Tax & Precision window.  Set the Qty field to 1 or 2.  This will allow numbers like 1.2 or 1.23.
