Title: Can POS do price per lb.
Post by: Deli-Man on April 27, 2011, 06:50:07 AM
I sell meats and cheeses by the pound or portions thereof.  I post my prices in $ per lb.  Will the POS allow me to put in a price by the pound then sell 0.6 lbs.?  I couldn't find a way to do it so I made my UOM the ounce.  It works but is confusing to the customer when they look at their receipt and see qty 8 (oz.) instead of 1/2 lb.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes.  In the Managers window open the Settings / Tax & Precision.  Put 1 in the Qty field.  Now you will be able to enter quantities like 1.4.  The default is 2 witch allows numbers like 1.23.  Now open the Product Control and for your products that get weighed check the Options / Qty Prompt.  Now when these products are sold it will ask the cashier to enter the quantity.
